Hebah’s Rotation Experience

During my clinical experience with Dr. R, I had the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on exposure to the U.S. healthcare system while strengthening both my clinical and communication skills. From the first day, Dr. R created a supportive learning environment that encouraged questions, critical thinking, and active participation in patient care.

Throughout this rotation, I was involved in patient interviews, physical examinations, and case discussions. I learned how to approach patients with empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity, which was especially important in a diverse healthcare setting. Observing how Dr. R communicated complex medical information to patients in a clear and compassionate way had a strong impact on my own approach to patient interaction.

In addition to clinical skills, this experience helped me understand the structure of the U.S. healthcare system, including documentation, teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I worked closely with nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals, which emphasized the importance of teamwork in delivering high-quality patient care.

Beyond academics, this experience was personally rewarding. I built meaningful professional relationships and gained confidence in my ability to function in a clinical environment abroad. Overall, my time with Dr. R was an enriching and motivating experience that reinforced my passion for medicine and my desire to continue developing as a future physician.
