AMOpportunities is excited to announce that we have raised $2.2 million in Series A funding, which will support our continued efforts to increase diversity, provide equal education to all and support immigration. Diversity drives patient outcomes, and the American healthcare system can only benefit from medical knowledge and physicians outside its borders.   

“To thrive, the American healthcare system needs doctors from all over the world,” says Kyle Swinsky, CEO. “Without these international trainees, the U.S. will experience a devastating physician shortage. We need these international physicians to ensure our healthcare system survives. Diversity and immigration will only make our country stronger.”

AMO will apply this funding to expand partnerships with medical institutions, hospitals, and schools.  The investment is a gesture of support from our investors who believe in AMO’s mission and furthermore, the way in which it is delivered. This round of funding comes from existing investors OCA Ventures, HealthX Ventures, Wildcat LLC, and M25 Group. Past investor University of Chicago is also part of the investment, providing funding from their university endowment.

Since AMO’s beginning, more than 2,500 medical graduates from over 75 countries have taken part in the 200-plus clinical rotations we offer every year. AMO works with students and graduates from the time they apply to when they return home after completing their clinical rotation, serving as a point of contact for the visitors throughout their journey. These connections and experiences that AMO delivers will help the impending medical crisis facing the United States, which is expected to see a shortage of 120,000 physicians by 2030.

The investment will support AMO in scaling our clinical visitor platform, building it out for use by institutions such as U.S. hospitals and foreign medical schools.
