While it is essential to work hard during your clinical rotation with AMO, many rotation schedules give visitors ample time during the weekend and evening hours to explore nearby cities and attractions. Rafael, a medical student from Brazil, made sure to take advantage of this. During his rotation in Tampa, Florida, Rafael enjoyed the weather, food, and fun outside of his Internal Medicine rotation with Dr. L. Continue reading below for ideas on fun things to do outside of rotation hours.
Time in Tampa
Despite the days being busy at the clinic and hospitals, I still had time to visit enjoy the city of Tampa. For those attending, I highly recommend the Tampa Riverwalk and Ybor City. Also, you definitely can’t leave before going to Sparkman Warf. At Sparkman Warf, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset, live music, and a good beer.
For those who still don’t know if they should visit the U.S. for a clinical experience, I urge you not to waste any time. Just go for it! You won’t regret it!
I’m already planning on completing a second rotation this coming December! I can’t thank AMOpportunities enough for this experience!

I have a nursing degree from Mexico. Is this for nurses as well or only medical students?
Do I need to clear USLME to do this clinical rotation?
Hi Plu,
That is a great question! We offer many clinical experiences, about 250 to be exact. Many do not require you to pass the USMLE unless you are a medical graduate interested in a hands-on rotation, in which case it’s needed. Graduates can still do observerships without the USMLE however.
If you have additional questions, we ask that you reach out to our advisors by emailing adivors@amopportunities.org.
If you would like to view the experiences we offer or submit a free application, you can do so on our website here >> https://app.amopportunities.org/search
Hope that helps!

Hi Moses,
Congrats on your graduation. We are not a university or educational institution so we do not offer medical degree programs. We provide short term clinical experiences for those who are already in or have graduated from medical school.
If you find yourself in need of a clinical experience after starting medical school elsewhere we would be happy to help you then.
Best of luck!

Cinthia,
We have passed on your contact information to our team of AMO advisors who can provide you more information about the experiences we offer. As a fifth year medical student you would be eligible for many of them! Please keep an eye on your inbox!
