Clara’s Rotation Experience
When I arrived in Fort Lauderdale, I honestly had no idea what to expect — and yet my experience turned out to be beyond anything I could have imagined. From the very first day, I was welcomed with open arms and instantly felt like part of the team. Very soon, Dr. Silva began to trust me with patients, allowing me to take their medical histories and perform physical exams on my own.
Since in Germany it is common for residents to perform ultrasounds, I already had some experience with them. To my surprise, Dr. Silva encouraged me to take the lead — he even asked me to explain what I was seeing and let me perform all the ultrasounds myself. Under his supervision, I also had the chance to carry out PRP procedures.
Dr. Silva uses many advanced and innovative methods, such as stem cell therapy and PRP, which are still very rare. It was a true honor to learn about these cutting-edge treatments directly from him. Beyond the clinic, he even invited me to lunch with his wife, which made me feel even more included and appreciated.
I couldn’t have found a better place for my internship — it was a truly invaluable experience both professionally and personally. I think my photo really shows how comfortable I felt being part of the team and how incredible the rotation was!
