This past month, AMO had many students complete rotations in the U.S. who enjoyed their learning experiences. Renan, a medical student from Brazil, took part in two different dermatology rotations during the months of October and November. He enjoyed his rotation experience so much that he hopes others consider a rotation with AMO as well.

A Priceless Rotation

Entering the U.S. as a Brazilian who had never traveled outside his country previously, I knew that something could go wrong. However, during the two months of rotations through AMO, I had the best time of my life. During my time in Los Angeles, I grew as a student. Now I’m more confident about my skills, my knowledge, and how to properly perform as a dermatologist.

Dr. L, one of my supervising physicians, is one of the most incredible people that I have met in my life. She taught me about medicine, the U.S. healthcare system, and how to be a part of a dermatological program. This included her teaching me to treat patients and perform the job with love. Now I feel I am capable of returning to my country to further developing my medical school education.

The photo above shows how much fun I had with the incredible people I met during my rotation, which includes staff from Advanced Dermatologic Center and AMO. It was incredible how both teams were doing everything to make me feel comfortable so that I could study and learn in a great environment. I thank both groups for the amazing opportunity. All of my expectations were met and surpassed!

If I could, I would tell anyone considering a rotation with AMO what an amazing journey I had. If you are thinking about a rotation, don’t let this opportunity with AMO slip through. The knowledge that you could acquire during your rotation is immeasurable. There is not enough money in the world that could pay enough for that.
