Lately, medical students, graduates, and professionals have been asking if we still offer in-person clinical experiences. The answer is yes! While our virtual experiences are popular due to the safety and convenience they provide, in-person experiences are still in demand and they are being offered!
In fact, we are pleased to announce that we are now offered clinical experiences with Lompoc Valley Medical Center in California! Applications for the remaining months of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 are now open. Hospital Information
Lompoc Valley Medical Center is on the smaller size, with 60 beds. This size is typical given the hospital rural setting in Lompoc, California. Providing medical attention at a hospital like Lompoc can be extremely rewarding as rural communities are often underserved. Establishments like Lompoc allow locals to receive the healthcare they need without having to make long trips, which expend both time and money.
The hospital has been in service for over 75 years. During this time, the hospital has been recognized for providing quality medical care, having received many state-specific healthcare awards. Program Details
Clinical experiences through Lompoc Valley Medical Center are inpatient/outpatient, meaning visitors will have the opportunity to rotate in both the hospital and clinic settings. Exposure to both settings can provide participants an opportunity to see the full scope of the U.S. healthcare system.
All experiences are observerships, as such, they are suitable for a variety of individuals. Experiences are available to international or U.S.-based medical students and graduates. They are also open to pre-medical students provided they are enrolled in a U.S. college or university. At this time, all pre-medical shadowing experiences through AMOpportunities require participants to be enrolled in institutions within the U.S.
