Friends,

I want to say that on behalf of AMO, we support you. We’re here for your concerns, your worries, and even just a shoulder to lean on. While this time may seem dark, I’m heartened by the way it’s bringing people together. From the French singing songs of support to healthcare professionals to residents around the world delivering groceries to the elderly, COVID-19 is bringing out humanity at its best.

At AMO, healthcare and education are two pillars of our company. We take the health and safety of our visitors, employees, and the global community seriously.

Being at the global crossroads of education, healthcare, and travel puts AMO in a unique position with today’s COVID19 situation. Travel will have its limitations; however, we are seeing education and healthcare transcend.

Healthcare shortages and the need to train doctors at hospitals will not go away. We are contacting sites daily for updates from our preceptors. Program sites are open, and we understand policies may change with our sites during the next couple of months.

We will continue to support the hundreds of AMO visitors coming to the U.S. the next few months, while waiving all change fees for visitors who reserve now through March 31, 2020 and must postpone due to COVID-19-related program site cancellations, travel restrictions, or university restrictions. You can read our policy here.

As a company, we’re practicing social distancing, working in virtual mode, communicating daily and utilizing video conferencing. We’re following all CDC guidelines and recommendations to keep each other safe.

I personally want you to know how much I deeply care about our healthcare community and how hard our team is working to ensure the safety of our visitors and themselves. We’re here for you.

Stay safe all. We’ll get through this.

Best,
Kyle Swinsky
