In-Person U.S. Clinical Experience Sites

Internal Medicine with Clinical Instructor, NYU Grossman School of Medicine 

New York City, New York 

Take the lead in providing physical exams of the chest and abdominal muscles, as well as in recording patient histories while working alongside the clinical team on intake procedures and providing common procedures from Botox to electrocardiograms. 

 

Internal Medicine with Assistant Professor, University of South Florida College of Medicine 

Tampa, Florida 

In a multi-specialty private practice, you’ll have the opportunity to observe operations in a COLA-accredited laboratory and ACR-accredited diagnostic suite. Beyond participating in internal medicine case management, you’ll be exposed to a multidisciplinary team of gynecologists, gastroenterologists, and more. 

 

Cardiology at Harlem Cardiology in New York with Assistant Professor, New York University 

New York City, New York 

Located in New York’s historic Harlem neighborhood, this program gives you a chance to learn alongside the director of an outpatient cardiology clinic with support from a full team of physicians in a range of related subspecialties.  

 

Pediatrics at AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center Professional Building in Chicago 

Chicago, Illinois 

As one past visitor said, this program “gives you tons of exposure and knowledge.” Primarily based in an outpatient setting, this site also provides inpatient exposure at an affiliated hospital. Here, you’ll be able to shadow the doctor during births and emergencies. 

 

Internal Medicine in New York with Associate Academic Professor, Touro School of Medicine 

New York City, New York 

One of AMO’s most popular programs, past visitors praise the doctor’s thoroughness in providing follow-ups on cases and supervision in running tests such as taking vitals, rapid flu tests, and strep tests. Another perk? The program is located mere blocks from New York’s famed Central Park. 

 

Emergency Medicine at South Loop Immediate Care in Chicago 

Chicago, Illinois 

Working alongside two physicians, you’ll gain exposure to both emergency medicine and primary care. You’ll have the chance to diagnose and treat a range of injuries and diseases including sprains, abscesses, broken bones, and provide X-rays and ultrasounds. 

 

Obstetrics & Gynecology at AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center Professional Building 

Chicago, Illinois 

This program will provide you with exposure to a range of clinical skills such as working with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, performing routine gynecological procedures and exams, and performing wellness checkups. At the end of each week, the physician offers the opportunity to attend a lecture and discussion to supplement learning. 

 

Learn the Art of Telehealth with Virtual Clinical Experience Sites 

Virtual Plastic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with Program Director, Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency 

This comprehensive program is designed to prepare you to become familiar with plastic and reconstructive surgery at the level expected of board-certified specialists. In addition to a surgery rotation, you can expect to attend national conferences and/or prepare and present research on trending topics in plastic surgery. 

 

Virtual Internal Medicine with Clinical Instructor, NYU Grossman School of Medicine 

You can expect a similar experience to this program’s in-person counterpart described above, but with a technological angle. Through real-time virtual patient visits, you’ll learn to provide care via telehealth and address common issues that arise in this setting.  

 

Virtual General Surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel with Assistant Professor of Surgery 

In this virtual program, you’ll have  telehealth exposure to an inpatient setting at an ICU ward in New York City. You’ll have the opportunity to observe bedside procedures provided in this setting and learn the art of history taking, presenting physical exam findings, formulating differential diagnoses, and treatment plans.
